Beans with Yogurt (Mtsvane Lobios Borani)

Parboil or steam: |

green string beans, trimmed |

5 minutes, drain, and chop into 2 inch
pieces. |

|
Saute: |
| 1 |
medium |
onion, minced, in |

butter |

|
until transparent. Add the string
beans, along with: |

cinnamon |

white pepper |

ground cloves |

and cook, covered, 10 to 15 minutes, until
the beans are soft. Stir in: |

chopped fresh herbs (see Notes

and cook for a minute, then turn out into
a bowl. |

Mash or pound together: |

garlic, minced |

Pour the yogurt mixture over the string
beans, garnish with fresh mint or herbs, and serve. |
